MARDI GRAS TRASH

In 2023 over 1,000 tons of Mardi Gras trash was brought to landfills. Throws not collected often find their way into storm drains causing obstructions and street flooding. The Times-Picayune reported 46 tons of Mardi Gras Beads were found clogging 5 blocks of street drains. That’s almost 10 tons per block. If water can’t get into drains it stacks up and we flood.
